Here is a hair update of where I started, where I’ve been, where I am and where I am going with my hair journey… this is a recap of what we lost on Journeytobeauthair.

Hair Update
Starting length

I started my journey in November 2014 at neck length bone straight and chemically damaged  hair.

I then started nursing  my hair to health weekly. I also slowly by surely became a little product junkie because I believed the more products you have the better *Giggles*. Within a month or two, my hair started to show some progress it looked healthier and thicker

Setback

After box braids

In Jan 2015 my setback began… I was not aware of this at the time. One of my hair care sister’s pointed it out but I was still  blind to it silly me. I then got a long term protective style in March. In April when I undid it, the setback grew worse and I was forced to trim which took me to ear length

Big Chop

Hair Update
Big Chop

In May 2015, I decided to big chop. reason being my hair at the back was way shorter than my hair in front and it pretty much disturbed the OCD part of me. When I chopped my hair I had New growth and texlaxed ends when I went to dust at the barber, I ended up with just natural hair so I started over from there and started growing it

I grew my natural hair for about 4 months or so then texlaxed again and I was on Neck Length with fully texlaxed healthy and thick hair. Since then I have had 1 more texlax and I am currently exactly 12 weeks post

And that just about wraps up my hair. Up next I will update the protective styles I have tried so far.

I hope this post sums up my hair sufficiently. Any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

With Love,

Lebo

  1. Your hair is much thicker now since the texlaxing. It was a blessing in disguise to have your setback because now you were able to start over and the hard work is paying out.

    1. Thank you Lebo… It really was hey. Sometimes I felt like I went back a few steps but If you ask me if I would do it again? I really would.
