I was so privileged to be able to attend the Muddy Princess Fourways 2019 5km obstacle mud run this year and I am so thrilled to tell you all about it.
First let’s chat about what Muddy Princess is all about and I will tell you all about our experience. The Muddy Princess Obstacle Mud Run is an opportunity for women to come together and have fun while doing obstacles in mud! It is for women only, women of all shapes, sizes ages and fitness level. It’s non competitive so there is no timer, first price or strict rules so you can run, walk, crawl, climb, slide, balance. The trick is to have as much fun while doing it. It’s an amazing “Girls Dirty Day Out” you can have a look at their site here for more details
Before I tell you about my experience, this is not a sponsored post, I had fun, believe in the cause and decided to share.
I did Muddy Princess with my co-workers at Streamline Advertising. We went to the Fourways Muddy Princess which took place on the 24th of November 2019. We started at 14:20. It took place at Riversands Farm Village. In addition to the Mud Run, there was food vendors so after the intense workout you could go for lunch there! I think I just gave away my obsession with food! I digress.
When we started, we had a quick warm up with our group and then the run began! The first obstacle along the way was literally a pool of Muddy Water! That was fun! They had literal obstacles, jumping over logs, crawling under logs, running between tyres, walking through chain swings, climbing over tyre ladder obstacles, crawling through a mud pool, and another one, and another one, crawling through barrels and swimming across a dam!
At first it felt intense! But as you do the obstacles and have fun we forgot about the intensity and had so much fun. There were Pepsi stops and at the end we got a medal and Sir Juice and then of cause a goodie bag.
Our intension was to get down and dirty and we did. Our white tanks are now nice and brown. We had so much fun and I would definitely do it again.
Would you ever or have you ever done a Mud Run?
